A new weekly boot camp session in Rishton is proving so popular that members have even braved the snow to turn out in force.

Motivated mum Sally Randall’s exercise sessions at Cutwood Park every weekend have already earned cult status.

Sally’s Boot Camp has proven so popular that the 34-year-old said her followers have attended in all weathers from the start of the year.

She said: “I’ve got so much gym equipment from the various fads I have taken up over the years that I just asked a couple of friends to join me in some exercise down the park.

“From that a few people saw us and joined in and the whole thing has just grown from that.

“We had 27 people there last Sunday and the Facebook page has been really popular.”

Mum-of-three Sally, who works at North West Motors in Goosnargh, believes exercise should be fun.

During her hour-long session each Sunday and Wednesday the group works out using a range of equipment taking in part in everything from skipping circuits and running to hula hooping and three-legged races.

Sally, of George Street, Rishton, is a qualified masseuse and uses her knowledge of muscle groups to guide her fans in their training.

She said: “It’s a bit like the exercise you used to do in school and I think that’s what makes it fun.

“Although I’m not a qualified personal trainer I have got a whistle and I will use it.

“Everyone seems to really enjoy it. I think everybody should exercise and if you make it fun I think people are more likely to want to do it.

“I can’t believe how much it’s taken off.

“Everyone is welcome to come along no matter what age or fitness they are.”

The free sessions take place every Sunday at 3.30pm and Wednesdays at 3pm.
