The Oswaldtwistle Players have released free tickets to their performance of the Accrington Pals to members of the Armed Forces.

The play is based on the story of the group of young men from Accrington who fought during the First World War.

Peter Whelan’s play runs at the Oswaldtwistle Civic Theatre until Saturday, October 18.

The society’s chair Clare Highton said: “The Accrington Pals is a funny, intimate and powerful drama about the bravery of ordinary people in extraordinary times.

“The play is so very close to each member of our society.

“We want to use our performance in honour and memory of the brave soldiers from our town who tragically fell during The Great War.

“Honouring our existing servicemen and women feels like an appropriate way to do so.”

There are a limited number of complimentary tickets available for each night and they can be applied for in advance by emailing info@oswaldtwistleplayers.co.uk.

General tickets are on sale at £8.50 with concessions at £7.50.

All tickets are £7 on Wednesday.
