Accrington Stanley stars substituted the factory floor for the training pitch as they enjoyed a ‘job swap’ with workers from their club sponsors.

The players attended the Altham factory and distribution centre of What More UK, where they were filmed by Sky Sports cameras.

After a health and safety briefing, the high-flying Stanley players were put through their paces by having a go at various jobs in different parts of the 500,000 sq ft factory - the equivalent of six-and-a-half football pitches - and learned how the plastic products are manufactured and distributed.

Meanwhil the What More staff – known as the ‘Wham Wanderers’ – got a taste of professional football by enjoying a coaching session with Reds manager John Coleman.

Coleman said: “Obviously they were a million miles away from the standard of our players, but football is all about enjoyment and they all certainly seemed to enjoy their day.

“We were able to give them a few basic skills to improve their game and we enjoyed having them here.”
