HUNDREDS of homes were plunged into darkness for two hours on Wednesday evening after a fault with an underground cable.

HUNDREDS of homes were plunged into darkness for two hours on Wednesday evening after a fault with an underground cable.

Nearly 2,000 homes across Accrington and Blackburn were affected. The worst areas included Church, Oswaldtwistle and Accrington.
