Hundreds of people turned out to say their goodbyes to a tragic teen who died after plunging from a shopping centre car park.

Lauren Nicola Johnson died after falling from the top floor of the Accrington Arndale car park at around 10am, on Thursday, June 5.

Family and friends - who all wore brightly coloured socks at the request of the family - filled Accrington Crematorium during a service paying tribute to the 17-year-old, on Friday afternoon.

Lauren's friends played songs in memory of the teenager, of Blackburn Road, Oswaldtwistle, and her family gave moving tributes during a service led by David Ireland.

Lauren's mum, Dawn, said she was humbled by the support the family have recieved.

She said: "Lauren was a sensitive soul who never had a bad word to say about anybody. She will live forever in the memories of those who knew her.

"I hope I can be half the person in my lifetime that she was in her 17 years."

Speaking at the end of the service, David Ireland said many young people had lost a true friend.

He said: "Lauren could see people and love them for who they were."
