A man has been charged with assault and threats to kill after a 27-year-old woman was found with stab wounds to her head in Clayton-le-Moors yesterday.

Police were called to an address on Whalley Road at around 6am on Monday, April 17 following a disturbance at a house.

The woman was taken to hospital and her condition is not life threatening.

Adam Dyer, 23, of Whalley Road, Clayton-le-Moors was arrested at around 6.30am yesterday after he lost control of his car on the M6 motorway close to junction 32.

He has since been charged with section 18 wounding with intent, threats to kill and section 39 assault by beating.

He has been remanded in custody to appear before Blackburn Magistrates Court this morning.
