An Accrington glamour model and reality TV star has been spared jail after wasting police time.

Hayley Dixon, 28, told police her mobile phone had been stolen - but she had merely left it at the gym.

The former Hollins High School pupil left the Blackberry device in a Fitness First gym in Harrow, Middlesex, on February 15.

When she discovered that her phone was not insured against loss, she claimed she had been mugged.

Gym staff then found the device and handed it to police, who began to investigate Dixon.

She was branded ‘foolish’ by a magistrate after pleading guilty to the charge of wasting police time at Harrow Magistrates Court last week.

Dixon, who is currently training to be a teacher, received a 12-month conditional discharge and was ordered to pay £500 compensation plus £85 costs.

The glamour girl, whose family live on Manchester Road, starred in the E4 reality series Beauty And The Geek in 2006, where she was paired with a ‘geek’ in an attempt to win £40,000.

She has also starred in reality show Catfight, been an assistant presenter on cable channel Bid Up TV and appeared in steamy photo shoots for the Daily Sport and Maxim magazine.

She is also a qualified fitness instructor and netball coach and has a degree in PE and sport from Leeds Met University.
