Police have issued this picture of a car parked on school ‘Keep Clear’ markings in a reminder to drivers.

The picture was taken outside St Bartholomew’s primary school on Ash Street in Great Harwood.

A police spokesperson said: “We have been sent this photograph of a car parked on the school Keep Clear markings outside a school in Great Harwood.

“Obviously the lines are painted outside schools for a reason - to protect the children.

“Please park considerately and keep the school markings clear when taking children to and from school.

“We are working with the school and their Road Safety Ambassadors to address the issue, however thought it would be a good idea to help raise awareness on here as we know this can be a problem around many schools in the Hyndburn area.”

The Observer reported last year how police and schools were working to improve road safety.
