Detectives investigating a robbery at a house in Oswaldtwistle are appealing for help to trace the driver of a car which was seen in the area.

Witnesses reported seeing a dark coloured Golf parked near to the address around 7pm on Wednesday 10 February.

Officers are also keen to speak to anyone who saw any other vehicles in the Stanhill Road area or near to the M65 motorway bridge around the time of the offence.

The appeal follows a robbery last Wednesday night when four men went into the home of a couple on Stanhill Road at around 8.30pm.

The men, who were carrying a crow bar, tied the couple’s hands together before searching the house for valuables.

The men then left the house on foot with items of jewellery and cash.

Detective Sergeant Paul Langley from Accrington CID said: "We have been working closely with family and are following a number of lines of enquiry.

"I urge anyone who saw the dark coloured Golf or any other suspicious vehicles in the area between 6pm and 9pm on Wednesday night to contact police."

Anyone with information can contact police on 0845 1 25 35 45 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
