A car was stolen by an opportunist thief yesterday as a man was defrosting his car in Oswaldtwistle.

A car was stolen by an opportunist thief yesterday as a man was defrosting his car in Oswaldtwistle.

The man had his car running, nipped inside his house for some de-icer only find the grey Nissan Qashqai had disappeared when he returned.

Hyndburn Geographic Inspector Catherine Platt is warning people to defrost their cars responsibly and to not leave them unattended.

The incident happened at around 8.10am on Banbury Avenue.

An investigation is on-going.
