A man fractured his tibia and fibula after he collided with a car on Whalley Road.

The incident occurred at 8.30pm on Tuesday, January 11.

Road traffic police officer Pete Schulpher said: "It happened close to the La Pizzeria restaurant on Whalley Road.

"A black Vauxhall Corsa collided with a 49-year-old man from Accrington. The man was taken to Royal Blackburn Hospital where he was treated and remains."

The police are not investigating the incident and no one has been arrested in connection with it.
