A pensioner has died following a car collision in Clayton-le-Moors.

The man, who has been named by police as 69-year-old William Hart from Clayton-le-Moors, was walking near to the Albion Pub on Whalley Road when he was in collision with a grey Ford Fiesta.

He suffered head and pelvic injuries during the incident on Saturday, June 21 and was taken to Royal Blackburn Hospital.

He passed away on Wednesday, August 27.

Police have launched an appeal for information.

Sgt Lee Campbell, of the Road Policing Unit, said: “This was a tragic incident and I would appeal for anyone who witnessed this collision or who has any information, and who has not yet spoken to police, to contact us.”
