There was plenty of dressing up as the borough got in the spirit of Red Nose Day fundraising.

A 'silly Olympics' was held at Green Haworth school in Accrington where youngsters took park in kipper flipping, throwing a sponge at the headteacher, beach ball challenges and making Red Nose Day cakes.

Headteacher Phil Turner said all the students had a 'brilliant day' and loved doing something silly and fun for charity.

A giant red nose was placed on the front of a Typhoon jet to celebrate Comic Relief.

Staff at PR company Media Village in Altham were tasked by BAE Systems to come up with a special nose to commemorate Red Nose Day.

Pupils at Peel Park Primary School in Accrington have also so far raised nearly £400 for Comic Relief with a series of fun activities and dressing up in red.

Staff also joined in the fun by dressing in red and buying Red Nose cup cakes made by Bread Roll Bakery Ltd.

Two boys from Accrington's Heathland School also dressed up in Minnie Mouse onesies as a dare to raise money for good causes.

The courageous boys were Faaris Khan and Elijah Bello – both in Year 7.

And Little Tinkers nursery in Accrington has so far raised nearly £400 after holding a sponsored walk.
