A man suffered leg injuries after he was struck by a car in Oswaldtwistle. The 51-year-old was on Harvey Street when a Vauxhall Vectra collided with him.

Police are trying to establish what happened and are appealing for witnesses to help them with their investigation.

PC Mike Smith from the Road Policing Unit said the man required medical treatment and is now recovering at home.

He added: "I would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time and who witnessed the collision to come forward and contact us.

"We are investigating and trying to establish exactly what happened so would appeal to the public for their help."

The incident happened on Friday, August 31 at around 11.10am.
