Lancashire’s Police and Crime Commissioner has axed four staff as part of a mid-term shake-up.

Clive Grunshaw has ‘disestablished’ the roles of his deputy and three assistant police and crime commissioners following a month-long consultation with his staff.

Mr Grunshaw said the restructure is designed to ensure his office is in the ‘best possible shape’ for the remainder of his term.

He has also decided to reshape his team into three operational areas focusing on crime, re-offending and criminal justice; victims, vulnerable people and partnerships; and governance and frontline policing.

Mr Grunshaw said: “The new office structure is designed to ensure I have the right job roles in place to deliver the priorities laid out in my Police and Crime Plan.

“I would like to personally thank the DPCC and APCCs for their excellent work supporting me through the first half of my administration.

“They have provided excellent service and the restructure should not be seen as any reflection on the individuals who held the roles that are being disestablished.”

The executive support team and communications team will continue to support the office.

Mr Grunshaw added that a new director post to head up the office was recently advertised and is currently being recruited to. The restructure will be implemented immediately with roles disestablished from the end of the month.
