Roadworks at a busy junction in Rishton are set to be completed by the end of the month.

Work on the High Street, Harwood Road and Blackburn Road junction was started in the middle of February and includes minor road widening to improve the left turn from Harwood Road to High Street, resurfacing the road at the junction and relocating the southbound bus stop on Blackburn Road further away from the junction.

The county council said bus priority technology, cycle facilities and formalised pedestrian crossing facilities will be introduced.

George Brockbank, contracts manager at the county council, said the resurfacing has now finished and the line-marking and anti-skid surfacing will be completed by next week. It will take another week to install traffic lights.
