A ten-year-old Accrington Stanley fan says she is prepared to camp out with her family so she does not miss Accrington Stanley’s historic bid for a place in League One.

It comes after the Reds booked their place in the play-offs with a 3-1 win over Barnet.

If promoted it would be the first time the club has been in the third teir of English football since the late 1950s.

The news has delighted superfan Hannah Holland, aged 10, who donated £8 from her piggybank to help save the club from closure during the dark days of September 2009.

Now the youngster, her mum Katei Blezard and her six brothers and sisters are getting ready to support the team at away matches in the play-offs. Katei, of Clitheroe, said: "We will be going off to the playoff away leg, which will be Gillingham, Stevenage or Torquay.

"If it’s Torquay or Gillingham, we will be camping with the family to ensure we do not miss the biggest away game of the season.

"Hannah and all my children are thrilled that we have made it this far."

Katei has been supporting the club for the last five years and said part of the appeal is the fantastic atmosphere at the Crown Ground. She said: "It is such a family-oriented club. You can bring all your children there and know they can enjoy a match in a safe environment. It is something very special."

And one of the club’s founders Jack Barrett will also be cheering the club on in their promotion pursuits. Jack, 86, was named an honorary Freeman of the Borough of Hyndburn Council but he said the highlight of his weekend was Jimmy Ryan’s hat-trick.

He said: "We have got a really good side at the moment. It’s probably one of the best ever, which is what you want heading into the play-offs."

For their final match of the regular season Accrington Stanley play away at Burton Albion on Saturday, May 7 at 3pm. Stanley will play the first leg of the two legged semi-final on Sunday, May 15.

The second leg will be played on Friday, May 20 ahead of a possible final at Old Trafford on Saturday, May 28. The opponents in the semi-final will be decided by the last round of League Two fixtures on Saturday, May 7.
