Thousands of people are expected to flock to one of the borough’s biggest annual events this weekend.

And organisers of the Great Harwood Agricultural Show have promised a feast of new attractions at this year’s event.

Around 10,000 people attended last year’s event and visitors this Bank Holiday Monday will be able to enjoy a range of fun events for all the family, including a number of brand new attractions in the main arena.

The Xtreme Stunt Team will perform ‘breathtaking’ stunts on bikes and motorbikes with riders boasting more accumulated championship titles and accomplishments than any other team.

The Companion Dog – Best In Show event will see visitors able to enter their dog into classes run throughout the day and a chance to compete for the Best in Show award.

Other attractions include SMJ Falconry with a range of birds of prey, Blackburn Archery, the Accrington Pipe Band and the classic tug of war and Bowley Hill Trail race.

It will take place on Monday, May 30 from 9.30am.

Entry to the event is £8 for adults, £5 for OAPs and children aged five to 18 and a family ticket costs £20.
