AN EPILEPTIC man was punched to the ground and had his medication stolen, as he walked along Blackburn Road, Accrington.

The 31-year-old, was outside Platts Social Club, between noon and 12.10pm on Wednesday, when he was approached by two men, who attacked him before taking the 22 Diazepam tablets from his jacket pocket.

The pair are both white aged between 20 and 30.

One, who is believed to be called John or Johnny, is described as 5ft 6ins to 5ft 7ins tall, of slim build with blonde hair, styled in a crew cut.

He was wearing a grey or very light blue track suit top.

The other, who has a local accent, is 5ft 8ins to 5ft 9ins tall, of slim build and was wearing a dark blue baseball cap and a Navy blue top. They ran off after two women came to help the victim who suffered bruising to his face and back and was taken to hospital as a precaution.

Police want to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time of the attack and they are particularly keen to speak to the two women. Anyone with information should contact PC Mick Walsh at Accrington Police Station on 353103.
