A COUPLE are hoping to win the wedding of their dreams to help put behind a tragic two years.

Tracey Elliott and Peter Hacking from Clayton-le-Moors are one of five couples who are in with a chance of getting their big day fully paid for after entering a wedding of the year competition run by radio station 2BR.

And it would mean the world to the couple if they won after having to delay their wedding nearly two years ago following the death of their daughter who died shortly after birth.

Tracey, a family support worker for Burnley Council, said: "We were due to get married but I went into labour 13 weeks early and gave birth to the twins. We lost our baby daughter and our son Kenny had to be in hospital for a long time.

"It was really hard and all our money had to go towards the funeral."

Kenny, who is two in February, weighed just two pounds when he was born. He is now out of hospital and is fit and healthy.

Tracey added: "It would mean absolutely everything to us. We have been through so much and have not had the best time over the last few years. We just deserve a bit of good luck."

The couple, of Melbourne Street, have been together for seven years and engaged for three.

They were among the 80 couples who entered the first round of the competition at The Oaks hotel in Burnley earlier this month.

If crowned winners, they will receive a fully expenses paid wedding, other than the rings and the ceremony, at The Oaks Hotel in Burnley.

Voting on the 2BR website closes on Friday 30 October.
