TWIN brothers who died suddenly only two days apart will be cremated at the same chapel within two hours of each other.

Frank Clark died in Blackburn Royal Infirmary following a massive heart attack on Saturday and on Monday his twin Bob lost his battle with cancer in Accrington Victoria. They were 76.

Frank will be cremated at Accrington following a service at St Mary's RC Church, Oswaldtwistle, and 80 minutes later some members of the family will return to the crematorium for a service for Bob.

The brothers were said to be inseparable when they were young and served in the Navy together.

Frank, of Rawson Avenue, Accrington, worked for Platt's for 12 years, while Bob, a former miner, was well known from the Miners', Central and Union Street clubs in Accrington where his father was steward.

Bob, who lived in Lindadale Close, Accrington, had been married to his wife Annie for 53 years.

Their eldest daughter Kathleen said: "It was very strange that they died so close together ... a bit scary really."

Frank's stepson Tony Dobson said: "I went to break the news on the Saturday morning and then on Monday I got a call that Bob had died as well. It was a double tragedy."
