A HORRIFIC crash left two people dead and a third injured after their car spun out of control and rolled for more than 100 yards.

The blue Vauxhall Corsa was travelling along the A56 Accrington Easterly By-pass near Huncoat on Saturday afternoon when, according to witnesses, the driver lost control and left the road.

The car finally came to a stop in a field 200 feet away.

The driver, 26-year-old Tracy Wilson, of Buckley Street, Stockport, was thrown from the car as it rolled. The North West Air Ambulance took her to the Royal Preston Hospital, where she later died.

The front-seat passenger, Stuart Carter, 37, also of Buckley Street, Stockport, died from his injuries in Burnley General Hospital.

The back-seat passenger, a 22-year-old man from Manchester, escaped with minor injuries and was also taken to Burnley General Hospital.

A Hyndburn fire crew had to cut the two men free from the car.

Police are appealing for witnesses to contact the Colne Road Policing Unit on 01282 425001.
