A 49-year-old woman from Great Harwood has been arrested on suspicion of murder and will be questioned by detectives.

Detectives launched a murder investigation after the body of a 31-year-old man was found on Delph Close in Blackburn at around 4.45pm yesterday.

The death is being treated as suspicious and a police cordon is currently in place.

A post mortem examination to establish the cause of death is due to take place later today.

Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Superintendent Neil Hunter, said: "This investigation is still in the early stages, but we are following a number of lines of enquiry and I have a team of detectives working to establish the circumstances surrounding this man's death.

"I would like to appeal to anybody who has been in or around the Delph Close area over the past three or four days who may have seen something suspicious, or has any information that can assist with this inquiry, to contact police."
