Rising stars from Accrington Stanley’s academy have scored a transport boost with subsidised buses to and from training.

It is the second year that Transdev, which operates buses across the county, has supported the under-18s team with the bus passes, as part of a partnership with the Reds.

Alex Hornby, chief executive, said: “We are pleased to be able to give some of the football stars of the future a lift with these passes.

“We look forward to continuing our partnership with the club.”

Accrington Stanley academy manager Paul Lodge added: “Our youth players travel from across Lancashire and beyond and these passes are a huge help to get them to training and home again.

“The support from Transdev makes a great difference to the lads and means they can focus on their training and development.”

Transdev’s Hyndburn Connect service serves the club’s Wham Stadium.
