Hundreds of teenagers are set to flock to a specialist prom event in Clayton-le-Moors next month.

The Dunkenhalgh Hotel will host Prom Fayres UK and is the first time the company has visited Hyndburn.

The event will showcase a variety of prom transportation, dresses, suites, photography and entertainment.

Attendees can also visit the beauty and hair stands, as well as getting some outfit inspiration from catwalk shows.

Prom Fayres UK has chosen the Dunkenhalgh as its only showcase location in East Lancashire, with other events being held in Preston and Liverpool.

Sarah Burns, managing director of Prom Fayres UK, said the prom industry is the UK’s fastest growing market worth £80 million and said that school proms have become an ‘established rite of passage’ for pupils.

She said: “Our Prom Fayres have been hugely successful in the past - a production company even filmed our last event for an ITV documentary.

“In February 2015, we will be welcoming over 3,000 school leavers to our Fayres which are the largest events of their kind staged in the region.

“All these young people will be looking for ideas, inspiration and advice to plan their prom night and that is exactly what we plan to give them.

“This is a definite ‘must attend’ event for anyone planning their prom.”

Sarah said the event in Clayton-le-Moors will feature two catwalk shows, goodie bags for visitors and a raffle with more than £1,500 worth of prizes including a designer prom dress, and a suit for the boys.

All proceeds from the raffle will go to its nominated charity the Alder Hey Children’s Charity.

Sarah added: “In addition to teenagers, we will also be welcoming parents, teachers and prom committees who will be looking for all aspects of entertainment, photo booths, candy carts, room decorations, photography and added extras that will make the night unforgettable.”

The prom fair will run from 11am to 4pm on Sunday, February 8.
