A schoolgirl has swapped treading the boards at the theatre for soapland’s famous cobbles as she is set to make her debut on one of the nation’s favourite shows.

Macy Hyat, a Year 7 pupil at Mount Carmel High School, recently filmed for a scene in Coronation Street, which will be aired around mid-May.

The storyline is a secret but she was filmed in a school uniform with lots of other child actors in a school playground.

Macy has also been filmed on a number of occasions for ‘The 4 o’clock Club’, which appears on CBBC.

She began attending drama workshops in Bury run by Carol Godby who has trained lots of familiar television actors such as Vicky Binns, Chris Fountain, Helen Flanagan, Ralf Little, Jennie McAlpine, Sam Aston and many more.

Her theatre workshops are one of the largest outside London and she provides training in acting, singing and dancing techniques.

Macy has attended workshops there since she was nine years old and hopes to continue attending auditions and filming parts for shows while continuing to study hard at school.
