A man was taken to hospital with a suspected broken arm after being attacked by a gang of five people armed with ‘wooden bars’.

Police were called to reports of a ‘disturbance’ inside a house on Spring Street in Rishton at around 11.40pm on Saturday, July 23.

When officers attended they found the 46-year-old victim, from Accrington, with a suspected broken arm and facial injuries.

He was taken to Royal Blackburn Hospital for treatment by paramedics.

A 34-year-old woman from Accrington was arrested on suspicion of GBH and has been bailed until September 28.
