Music and beer lovers are set to descend on Clayton-le-Moors for a weekend festival.

The Forts Arms will once again hold the annual PAC Weekender featuring around 20 music acts and up to 20 local real ales.

The event will also showcase the work of local artists with an art and crafts exhibition in an upstairs gallery.

Barry Marshall, landlord of the Forts Arms, said they are looking forward to the event.

He said: “We have two function rooms with free live music from a mixture of local artists and some bands from London who are quite well known.

“We will be having a beer festival at the same time with over 20 different real ales available from local breweries.

“If the weather is nice too then we will try and have a barbecue.”

The PAC Weekender will be held between Friday, June 3 and Sunday, June 5 with beer and food served throughout.

The bands will perform from 8pm on June 3 and from 2pm on both June 4 and 5.

Barry, who took over the running of the Lower Barnes Street pub at the start of the year, said: “Every Wednesday evening we have a free acoustic jam night hosted by local musician Mark Fox.

“The weekender sprang from that. It has been running here for the last couple of years and has my full support.

“I took over the pub on January 1 and it was something that was already in place.

“I wanted to carry it on as it has turned into a big success.

“We are really looking forward to it and it should be nice and busy with lots of families too.”

Entry to the PAC Weekender is free and donations are requested.
