A large cannabis factory has been found inside an empty Accrington town centre business.
Officers from the neighbourhood policing team (NPT) executed a misuses of drugs warrant at 4.20pm on Friday, July 29, and found 116 cannabis plants inside the premises on Dutton Street.
A Hyndburn Police spokesperson said: “Numerous intelligence reports had been received from the community informing local NPT officers that a cannabis factory had been set up within the empty business premises.
“Officers have obtained a warrant which was executed at the property, locating 116 cannabis plants being grown on the top floor.
“Officers have dismantled the whole set up and will be conducting further enquiries regarding the incident. Officers would like to the thank the local community in providing the intelligence enabling the warrant to be obtained.”
