Police have found 150 mature cannabis plants at a disused mill in Oswaldtwistle.

Officers searched Vine Mill on Brookside Street and found the ‘sophisticated’ setup in a first floor warehouse.

The discovery was made by East Intelligence, Ops Support Unit and Neighbourhood Team officers around midday on Thursday, May 21 and they spent several hours seizing evidence.

Other items found included growing tents, individual electricity boards and ventilation untis for each tent.

No arrests have been made and an investigation is underway.

A Hyndburn Police spokesperson said: “This is as a result of community information. We would like to thank Oswaldtwistle residents for their help.”
