Police are appealing for help to trace a man missing from home in Accrington.

Munir Alam, 43, was last seen at around 11am at his home on Empress Street on Sunday, August 16.

He told family members he was going out for a walk, but he failed to return home and has not made contact with them since.

He is described as Asian, around 5ft 10 tall, of a large build with brown eyes and short black hair.

He was last seen wearing traditional Asian dress, a black short length jacket and black shoes. He also has a tattoo on his left arm of a love heart with the letter ‘M’ inside.

He is known to have links to both the Rochdale and Bolton areas of Greater Manchester.

PC Laura Kendall, of Blackburn Police, said: “It has been more than two weeks now since Munir went missing and his family and friends are becoming increasingly concerned about his whereabouts.”
