A primary school in Church has been praised by the Minister for State Schools.

The Rt Hon David Laws MP sent a letter to Sacred Heart RC congratulating the school for the improvement of their Key Stage two results for disadvantaged pupils.

He said: “I would like to congratulate your staff, governors, parents and pupils for their hard work and success, and thank you for your leadership in making such a huge difference to the future success of your pupils.”

The MP encouraged the school on Bradshaw Row to share their achievements with other schools.

Sacred Heart class teacher Joanne Savage said: “It goes on to say that Sacred Heart RC Primary school is amongst the 100 top performing schools based on sustained improvement in attainment at level 4 or above in reading, writing and mathematics each year from 2012-2014.”
