Pupils’ touching tributes to Pals

ONCE again generous Hyndburn folk have come up trumps and donated a further £908.80 to the campaign to save the Accrington Pals’ Chapel in St John’s Church, Accrington – bringing this week’s grand total to £14,495.
St John’s had donations totalling £176.80 at church, £50 from Accrington Stanley, £10 from the sale of bags and £65 from its Wednesday morning service group.
Donations also came flooding into the Observer office totalling £607 boosting last week’s £13,587 total to a whopping £14,495 this week – with a further £3,000 likely to come from Peel and Barnfield Area Council.
Donations received at the Observer offices this week include: Children, parents, staff and governors at St John’s with St Augustine’s School, Accrington £250; Anon £20; Anon £2; Mr H Nicholson and Mrs D Nicholson £200; Accy Rockers Charity Night at Oswaldtwistle Social Club £105; Anon £30.
