Leader returns after illness

HYNDBURN council leader Cllr Ian Ormerod announced he is to return to his public duties in the next few weeks, following a stroke two months ago.
In a statement he said: "I have visited my doctor who assured me I'll soon be ready to take an active part in the community again, but that I should also be mindful it is only two months since I suffered a stroke.
"I would like to pass on my sincere thanks to the many people who have stopped me during my walks and wished me all the best. I am looking forward to returning and taking up the reins of the Council again in the very near future.''
