Pervert who targeted sisters is named by Accrington judge

A PERVERT who sexually abused two sisters has been named as Accrington teacher Fahim Ali Beg Mirza.
He has been placed on the sex offenders register by a district judge who reversed an earlier ban on naming him saying there was an "overriding public interest" in identifying him.
The 61-year-old pervert formerly of Princess Street, Accrington, was convicted in 1999 of five counts of indecent assault on young girls.
A teacher since 1974 he had a relationship with two sisters, aged 12 and 13, in a family with which he was friendly.
The relationship continued even after the girls were placed in care.
Hyndburn magistrates heard that Mirza would take the girls out in his car, sometimes on overnight stays at hostels, and bought them clothes.
Over three years he abused them sexually.
Mirza, who now lives in Blackburn, was released from prison in October 1999 because he served much of this three years sentence on remand.
But he was brought to court after officers feared he might be teaching again.
The order imposed by district judge Paul Firth prohibits Mirza from associating with any person under the age of 16 accept in the presence of an adult approved by social services.
He also banned from allowing anyone under 16 from entering a dwelling where he is a resident.
He must also notify the police of where he is living and not undertake any activity that would bring him into contact with under-16-year-olds.
