THE regeneration of Hyndburn's deteriorating housing stock has continued with a facelift for Lister Street in Accrington.
The properties are undergoing repairs in groups to make them weather-tight and there are plans to extend the operation to include Princess Street, Tremellen Street and Countess Street.
Hyndburn Council leader Peter Britcliffe said: "It is great to see these properties restored to their former glory and to see the tangible signs of regeneration through housing market renewal at work."
A council statement said: "Most of the works are external which makes the improvements obvious to passers-by, from the railings at the front to the uniform back walls at the rear.
"The Lister Street scheme has been very successful in improving the appearance of the properties, as have other schemes run in the Scaitcliffe area, including Higher Antley Street, Richmond Hill Street and Hope Street."
