Planet plaque’s royal approval

A RIGHT Royal party was held in Altham on Tuesday as a new media company's home was officially declared open by Prince Edward, the Earl of Wessex.

The Earl unveiled a three-dimensional digital plaque, which he joked was "unusual", to declare Saturn House, on the Altham Business Park, formally open.

He had been invited to attend the ceremony by CW Advertising and ITFX, two marketing and media companies which will occupy the building.

Saturn House is a 9,000 square foot development at the entrance to the Altham Business Park, which includes state-of-the-art technology and facilities.

It has been designed to have a rural feel in keeping with the surroundings, and will include a picnic area to encourage outdoor recreation.

Prince Edward arrived at Saturn House about 4pm, and was introduced to the Mayor of Hyndburn, Councillor Mohammed Rahman, and Mayoress Hosne Ara.

He then toured the new building and spent an hour meeting staff at the company and learning about its work.

He unveiled the 3D video plaque and joked: "This is certainly one of the more unusual plaques, and quite possibly the most expensive."

Clive Wood, CW Advertising managing director, said: "The move to new premises represents a major step in the development of two of the region's most respected advertising, marketing, PR and new media businesses and it was an honour that His Royal Highness performed the opening of the building."
