Three men from Accrington have been charged as part of a drugs and firearms investigation.

It follows a series of raids in Accrington and West Yorkshire on Wednesday, November 13.

Kashif Hamid, 29, of Portland Street, Accrington has been charged with conspiracy to supply heroin, possession of a firearm and possession of prohibited ammunition.

Zaheer Mahmood, 32, of Persia Street, Accrington, and Nadeem Abbas, 38, of HMP Forest Bank, have been charged with conspiracy to supply heroin.

The warrants were executed as part of Operation Kaitlyn, an investigation into the supply of drugs in the Accrington area.

Three other men from Bradford have also being charged for conspiracy to supply heroin.

A 52-year-old m,an from Bradford was released without charge.
