This week a birthday celebration, a charity auction and football fever feature in our Time-trip column.

Each week we will publish a set of pictures taken by our photographers which appeared in the paper in the 2000s.

The pictures appear first on our website and are then reprinted in the paper.

This week our pictures show Carole Landon at her 30th birthday party at the Queen’s Hotel, locals enjoying their drinks in the Bay Horse Pub, and football fans in a frenzy at Stanley Street Pub for the screening of the FA Cup tie between Burnley and Blackburn Rovers.

There is also a shot of a charity auction at Accrington Town Hall. Councillor Paul Barton’s services were on offer, plus a trip in a Rolls Royce. Paul was joined by Lee Parkinson, son of Hyndburn’s mayor and mayoress, and models Laura Cooke, Lyndsey Mabbutt, Johnny Green and Dez Bond.

The photographs were all taken in the early 2000s.

If you have any pictures you would like us to feature in the column, please send them into us at communities@menmedia.co.uk or via the Accrington Observer Facebook page.
