An awards ceremony, a protest Happy couple Mick Ware and Eileen Rhodes with Murphy, and a four-legged best man at a wedding feature in this week’s Time-trip column.

Each week we will publish a set of pictures taken by our photographers which appeared in the paper in the 2000s.

The pictures appear first on our website and are then reprinted in the paper.

This week our pictures show Huncoat residents protesting in Hyndburn and a construction awards night at Accrington Town Hall, with Steve Broomhead (chief executive of NWDA) presenting an award to Apprentice of the Year Mark Atherton, watched by fellow recipients and college principle Nancy Cookson.

They also show happy couple Mick Ware and Eileen Rhodes with dog Murphy, the best man at their Accrington register office wedding, and locals at Warner Pub in Accrington town centre.

The photographs were all taken in the early 2000s.

If you have any pictures you would like us to feature in the column, please send them into us at communities@menmedia.co.uk or via the Accrington Observer Facebook page.
