ACCRINGTON and Great Harwood have both been crowned champions after a wet end to the cricket season.

Accrington became double winners after their Lancashire League clashes with Rawtenstall and Lowerhouse were rained off.

"I am very proud of the lads," said captain David Ormerod. "But we don't want to stop here - we want to push on.

"This has been a real team effort and we have turned things around at the club. It is good to have a smile on people's faces at the end of the season rather than applying for re-election for finishing bottom."

Harwood have one game left next weekend but the rain meant the clinched the Ribblesdale League title after a 108-year long wait.
