Accrington Cricket Club are holding an EGM directly after the club’s AGM which begins at 8pm on Monday, February 8 in the clubhouse.

The EGM is being held to discuss ways of raising funds to pay off the Thwaites Brewery loan of £80,000.

The club solicitor has been looking to conclude an offer for the sale of the land where the car park is currently situated, but value continues to fall, and there is doubt as to whether this will be beneficial enough to make it viable.

Other ideas being considered are the sale of the phone mast and a new proposal by Steve Davies to introduce a Club Bond Scheme for Club Supporters.

The recent freezing weather has hit the club hard with no water supply since December 8. Once the supply is restored around a dozen burst pipes will need to be repaired.

The club has been closed for over a month therefore with a loss of income.
