It will be all change at Church Cricket Club next season with Craig Fergusson taking over as first team captain from Andrew Bentley.

Bentley has been in charge for a year but he and his partner are expecting their first child next year and, together with the fact that he will also be studying for exams next summer, the bowler felt he would be unable to give the same amount of commitment to the role as he has done in the last 12 months.

Meanwhile, although they have professional Saeed Anwar Junior on board, Church have lost their record-breaking batsman from last season.

Ammer Mirza, after a stunning debut season in the Lancashire League, has taken up a role as paid man at Bradford League side Undercliffe.

Ammer is currently in Australia playing cricket.
