ACCRINGTON Stanley manager John Coleman feels defeat to Torquay next week will consign the Reds to the drop.

With a threat of a points deduction hanging over their head for fielding two ineligible players, Stanley could not turn on the style at promotion chasing Swindon and, with other teams winning around them, they are only out of the relegation places on goal difference.

Bottom club Torquay are looking at pulling off the great escape like last season and they will be all out for victory at the FES next Saturday.

"It is despair and disappointment and I have never felt so low as when my mum and dad died," said Coleman. "That you are really upset and there is not a great deal you can do about it.

"Torquay has become a game that if we don't win, I think we are down.

"Perhaps I have kept faith with these players for too long and I will be looking to get some loan players in this week - but it is hard."

It was a game of few chances with Stanley conjuring up just two all game - one in the first minute which Andy Mangan missed and a Jay harris long range effort.

The Robins scored in injury time in the first half through a Jack Smith penalty after Leam Richardson handled in the area.

And, three minutes after the break, an Aaron Brown free kick looked like it had sailed straight into the net although defender Andy Nicholas claimed a touch.

With Boston and Torquay winning, and Macclesfield drawing, Stanley are on the edge of becoming the only club to drop straight down to the Conference after promotion.

   John Coleman is talking in too much of negative manner and this is rubbing off on to the players and supporters alike creating a negative atmosphere all round and if he is like this in training the players must dread being there and it shows in their nervous play. It is now time to be concentrating on the positives as there are 9 games still to play and 27 points at stake. Talk the players up and give them confidence.
