JOHN Coleman hopes to have a new defender in place by tomorrow’s clash at Stockport County.

The Reds boss was furious with his backline after Saturday’s 3-3 draw with Chester and is in talks with some new players.

"I have been looking at a few defenders and I hope to have one in by tomorrow," said Coleman.

There is one familiar face, though, back with the Reds as striker Lee McEvilly has returned from his loan spell at Rochdale.

Dale boss Keith Hill has said McEvilly is still a target but they have sent him back whilesomething is properly sorted out. And he could feature tomorrow at County and on Tuesday at Peterborough.

"We will have to sit down and talk to Lee properly about what he wants," said Coleman.

"It is up in the air. He has done well for Rochdale as he hasn’t played a lot but still scored three goals. I know what a good player he can be but we will have to have a chat and see what pans out."

Winger Billy Dennehy is battling against a knock.
