ACCRINGTON Stanley have signed a new sponsorship deal which will be worth almost £1million over the next five seasons.
Padiham-based transport company Fraser Eagle have agreed a club record six-figure fee sponsorship deal to be the main sponsors for the next two campaigns.
And the ground, formerly the Crown Ground and the Interlink Express, will now be known as The Fraser Eagle Stadium for the next five seasons.
"It is a brilliant deal," said chairman Eric Whalley, with the company also sponsoring the away travel, the mascot and Stanley's youth programmes. "It is the biggest ever sponsorship deal for the club and it is the first time we have had a six figure fee. If the deal runs its course, it will be worth nearly £1million for the club.
"We obviously do not want to change the name of the ground too often but it was too good a deal to turn down. It is a necessity and the money will go towards the running costs of the club. And it still sounds better than Kit Kat Crescent!" said the chairman, jokingly referring to York City's ground.
