HUNCOAT UNITED : The Under nines beat Rossendale Valley Blue 3-0.

Sunday’s Under 11s reached the semi-finals of the cup thanks to a 5-2 win against Great Harwood. MOTM was Chris Dwyer scored four goal with Robert Powell grabbing the other.

Saturday’s Under 13s had a great weekend.

They beat Akzo Yellow 4-1 to reach the cup final on Saturday.

Then, on Sunday, they were in cup action again, this time beating JFC Dynamoes 9-0 to reach the semi-finals.

Saturday’s Under 14s also had a good win, finishing their season in style, beating Oswaldtwistle Rangers 5-1. Jake Crabbtree scored a double while Josh Coo, Jake Fairweather and Jacob Johnson scored one each. MOTM was Matt Fearon.

Sunday’s Under 14s went out of the cup, losing 5-0 against Darwen Rangers. MOTM was Sam Tattersall while the Referee’s MOTM was Luke Broadhurst.

St Josephs: The Under 14s lost 2-0 to Pendle Forest. A depleted Saints side managed to hold back Pendle for the best part of the match although, with 10 minutes left, Pendle scored from a corner and then made it two with a minute to go.

Greyhound Ford: The Under 15s have only five games left to clinch the title after a 4-0 win over Wilpshire Wanderers.

Ford were 2-0 up after five minutes with goals from Jake Eddleston and Daniel Baker.

Then a free kick from Max Howells made it three and, just before the break, the Referee’s MOTM Daniel Baker scored the fourth.

Wilpshire came out strong in the second half but Ford held on to record their tenth victory in the league.

The Under 14s lost 3-0 to Haslingden in the latest round of the cup. Greyhound went 1-0 down in the first five minutes. It was always then going to be an uphill struggle in slippery conditions, but Greyhound battled hard to the final whistle and were eventually beaten by a stronger side.

KNUZDEN YOUTH: The Under 16s lost 3-0 to Wilpshire Wand-erers. They had several first teamers missing but still gave a decent display against a strong team. Goalkeeper Danny Wilkinson made some great saves. MOTM was Cammy Caton in his emergency defender’s role.

RISHTON UNITED: The Under 14s won 5-3 against Blackburn Town in the Blackburn, Darwen and Hyndburn League.

The goals were scored by Ryan Ralph, Bobby Morris (two) and Alex Berry (two).

Dominic Parker did an excellent job as goalkeeper while captain Bobby Morris was given MOTM by the referee.

In the North Valley League, they Under 10s Red lost 4-1 to Pendle Forest Black.

But, two week earlier, Pendle beat Rishton 10-2 so this result shows how hard the team tried.

Pendle led 4-0 but Joseph Aspin got one back for Rishton and they should have scored more. MOTM was Keenan O’Carroll.

In the Accrington and District League, the Under 10s drew 2-2 with Pendle Forest Green.

The Under 11s won 2-1 against Darwen thanks to a brace from Charlie Feeney.

This kept the pressure on Accrington Stanley and Clitheroe Wolves Red in their quest for the league title. MOTM was Keiran Higham

Next week it is the final home match of the seson against Barrowford Celtic at St Charles.

The Under 12s put a not-so-unlucky 13 past Clitheroe Wolves in a 13-3 win with Referee’s MOTM Kegan Dobson scoring seven.

The other goalscorers were Ngone Madzimbamuto, Liam Haworth, Declan Byrom, Jordan Williams (hat trick).

This keeps Rishton in the hunt for the championship which could go right to the wire.

The Under 13s lost 9-2 to Nelson while the Under 14s Blue drew 1-1 with Borrowdale United.

Liam McNulty opened the scoring with goalkeeper James Frankland tipping over several shots before they made it 1-1.

Hassan Akhtar almost scored a brilliant goal to win the game but the Borrowdale keeper dived to his right and saved well. MOTM for Rishton was James Frankland.
