Huncoat United Under nines White played Hyndburn Youth on Saturday and started slowly.

The game sprang into life when Logan Eastwood cut out a pass in his own area and then ran the length of the field before hitting a cracking left-foot strike into the opposite top corner.

Despite a number of chances it remained 1-0 at half-time.

With 12 players on duty it was all change at half-time with six substitutes used.

The second goal came when Brandon Ross took the ball past a couple of defenders and finished low past their keeper.

Huncoat rounded off the scoring with good teamwork and, after a few passes, Matthew Ormerod put Finley Graham through one-on-one with their keeper and he coolly passed it in to the net.

MOTM went to Jack Cain from the referee and their manager.

The Under nines Red played their final game at the Soccer Dome on Sunday before returning to playing outdoors next week.

They finished off in style with a win over Langho, making it 14 won, one drawn and two lost in total.

This was as good a display as the boys have produced and Langho couldn’t cope with the quick passing on display.

There were a number of pleasing aspects –the shooting was first class with the pick of the goals a Luke Pye thunderbolt from just inside the opposition half. Jackson Poland grabbed a hat-trick, the defence kept a clean sheet and the midfield closed down the opposition at every opportunity.

During the game every player played in a different position than they are used to but it didn’t show with a final score of 7-0.

Goals came from Jackson Poland (3), Luke Pye (2), Owen Geary and MOTM Louie Turner also getting on the score sheet.
