JUNIOR FOOTBALL ROUND-UP: THE Under 14s East Lancs Alliance League side enjoyed a nail-biting 4-3 win over Blackpool and District League to reach the final of the competition.

Players came from Crown Paints, Lammack, Huncoat, Palace House and Mill Hill to make up the side. East Lancs took the lead through Harrison Parrington but Blackpool came back to make it 3-1 at half-time. Dave Wright got one back after the break and Liam Shaw slotted home the leveller just before the end. In extra-time Brad Campbell scored what turned out to be the winner.  Keeper Thomas Burrows played superbly.

MILL HILL: The Under 13s overcame last season’s LFA cup winners Furness Rovers. The game finished 1-1 after extra-time with Wayne Skinner scoring the goal. Mill Hill won 10-9 on penalties with goalkeeper Marcus Burgess scoring and saving the last penalties. They will now meet last seasons runners-up Tempest United in the quarter-finals.

OSSY RANGERS: The Under nines ran out 5-2 victors over Clitheroe Wolves Yellow. Jamie Parkinson scored twice with Nathan Reddaway, Niall Latham and MOTM Alfie Cook adding the others. The Under 14s lost 3-0 against Burnley Knights. Richard Smith was MOTM.

GREYHOUND FORD: The Under 10s drew 1-1 with Wilpshire Wanderers. Alfie Hargreaves opened the scoring. Referee’s MOTM was Kyle Mason and the Manager’s MOTM was Joe Kirwan.

RISHTON UNITED: In the LFA Cup, the Under 13s were 6-3 winners over Bispham as they reached the quarter-finals of the competition. MOTM Kegan Dobson scored a four goals and Declan Byrom grabbed a double.

In the North Valley League, the Under 11s Red lost 1-0 to Fulledge Colts to miss out on a semi-final spot in the cup. Rishton’s MOTM was Danny Cobbold for a faultless display of goalkeeping.

The Under eights lost 1-0 to Barrowford Celtic White. Owen Taylor was MOTM.

In the Accrington and District Football League, the Under 11 Blue lost 5-0 to league leaders Wilpshire Wanderers. MOTM was keeper Danny Cobbold.

The Under 12s lost 4-0 to Fulledge Colts. They trailed 3-0 at half-time but were tighter after the break.

Elsewhere, the Under nines Blue won at Great Harwood while the Under 14s drew 3-3 with Crown Paints. The Under 16s lost 6-1 to Crown Paints Green.

In the Blackburn Combination, Blackburn United beat Rishton United 2-0 while the Reserves were 3-0 winners over Blackburn United Reserves.

Rishton United A side lost 3-2 to Dog Inn.

On Sunday, in the North Valley League, the Under eights lost 1-0 to Barrowford Celtic White while the Under nines lost 1-0 to Bacup.

The Under 11s were 1-0 losers to Fulledge Colts in the cup while the Under 15s beat Whalley 7-4.

HUNCOAT UNITED: The Under 10s ran out 1-0 winners over St Josephs on Saturday.

The Under 10s Allstars were narrowly beaten 1-0 by Clitheroe Wolves Yellow with MOTM Jack Beech.

The Under 11s lost 6-1 to Clitheroe Wolves Red while the Under 12s lost 4-2 to Knuzden.

The Under 13s recorded a fabulous 7-2 victory against Langho. Ben Lord (two), Calum Rainey (two), Connor Presho (two) and Chris Dwyer scored the goals. Referee’s MOTM was Connor Presho.

Meanwhile the Under 15s beat Globe 9-1.

KNUZDEN: The Under 17s celebrated three points with a ten goal thriller against Brierfield Celtic. Knuzden took a 2-0 lead but Celtic came back with only a late revival seeing Knuzden through 6-4. Goals were scored by Jamie McKay (two), Chris O’Connor (two), captain Adam Brown and a superb 30 yard striker from MOTM Nick Dewhurst. CHURCH: The Under 16s are still looking for their first win of the season after losing 9-3 at Crown Paints. It wasn't all bad news though as, for the second week running, Ellis Shaw scored two goals - one of them being a 25 yard wonder strike. MOTM was Steven Astbury who deservedly got the other goal.

GREAT HARWOOD ROVERS: The Under 10s were knocked out of the cup at the second round stage by Division One Crown Paints Yellow. Despite a spirited performance Rovers were beaten 3-0.
