JOHN Coleman felt that his side remain a work in progress despite their comfortable 3-0 win against non-league Northwich Victoria on Saturday.

Stanley were impressive at the Victoria Stadium, with goals from Ray Putterill, Rory Boulding and Michael Jukes – who have all agreed deals with the Reds – ensuring they returned victorious.

With a number of new faces and a new 4-2-3-1 system employed in the first half there were plenty of positives to take, but Coleman urged his players not to rest on their laurels.

"We’ve got to keep it going," said the boss. "It’s still not the finished article by any means.

"What we have got is a group of players who are keen and willing to take things on board and work hard. That can only be a good thing."
